Roy Carter

Roy Pemberton Carter, 93, of Concord, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 at his grandson's home. Mr. Carter was born March 26, 1920 in Cabarrus County to the late Robert Carter and. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Avie Rymer Carter, son Tommie Carter and ten brothers and sisters. Roy was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist church. He retired from Cannon Mills after 46 years of service and enjoyed working on his farm. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 6 until 8 pm. A Graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday, May 24th at 11 am, with Rev. Bryson Bigby officiating. He is survived by his; grandsons, Richard Carter and his wife Tiffany of Goldsboro, and William Carter and his significant other Tiffany of Concord; four great-grandchildren; and sister Stella.
