Roy Reuben Scott, Jr. 81, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Morningside Assisted Living in Concord.
Roy was born December 2,1942 to the late Roy Reuben Scott Sr. and the late Myrtle Louise Paige Scott.
He was a Concord native and High School Graduate. Once he started his journey through life, he spent many years employed as an electrician at Cannon Mills in Kannapolis, NC.
Antique cars, Dale Earnhardt Sr, western movies, and enjoying the sunniest days brought great joy to him. Roy’s life was anchored in his family and friends.
Devoted husband of 37 years, reliable brother, and trusting friend to many. Roy’s legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. We will remember Roy as a legend; styling in his Hawaiian shirts, drinking Cherry-Lemon Sundrop, and his silliness when raising his brow over his glasses. His kindness, honesty, and integrity will forever be a beacon of light and will be greatly missed.
Roy is survived by his brother Bob, best friend David Broadway, (Willie-Mae), his chosen family from Morningside Assisted Living of Concord, along with advocates Tammy Brown & Elizabeth Sparks.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Brenda Kay Scott; son, Roy Reuben Scott, III; and brother, John Scott.
We would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to the amazing staff of Morningside Assisted Living of Concord and Hospice of Cabarrus County, who gave such amazing care to Roy Scott. He lived a beautiful life surrounded by each one of you. Thank you for your impact by loving and caring for Roy.
