Roy Shaver

Roy Leman Shaver, 83, of Richfield, passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle.

Mr. Shaver was born June 11, 1936 to the late Daniel Richard Shaver and the late Artie Treece Shaver Earnhardt. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Nadine Shaver; brothers, Kenneth Shaver and Floyd Shaver.

Roy was know as the "Donkey Man". He took his donkey, Humphrey all around town giving children rides in Humphrey's handmade cart.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019, at 10:00 am, at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

Roy is survived by, son, Bobby Brown; daughter, Ruth Brown (Patrick Hall); sister, Clara Mae Bassinger; brother, Billy (Kirksey) Shaver  and numerous nieces and nephews.
