Ruby Drake

Ruby Lee Kiker Drake, 84 years of age of Midland, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Mrs. Drake was born April 5, 1928 in Stanly County to the late Sip Kiker and the late Elizabeth Pearl Hargett Kiker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Vann Drake. The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2012 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will be at 4 p.m., with a 30 minute state prior to the service, at First Baptist Church of Midland. Rev. Tom Gibbs will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include her daughters, Colleen Canupp and her husband, Avery, and Libby Morgan and her husband, Roger, all of Midland; her granddaughter, Amy Barrett and her husband, Eric, of Pinetown, N. C.; and her great granddaughters, Emma Ruth and Anna Claire Barrett. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Building Fund, 4720 Garmon Mill Road, Midland, NC 28107.
