Ruby Cauble Faggart, 86, a resident of Concord since 1941, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening October 18, 2009 at CMC-Northeast. She had been briefly ill and had suffered the effects of arthritis for a number of years.  She was born January 1, 1923 in Mount Pleasant to the late James C. Cauble and Polly Almond Cauble. She was a sixth-generation member of the Cauble (Kauble) family. Her ancestors organized Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Stanly County. Rubyâs family never owned a car, so they attended nearby First Baptist Church on Lee Street in Mount Pleasant. She had five sisters who precede her in passing.  She attended school in Mount Pleasant. On July 26, 1941, she married Woodrow Wilson Faggart and moved to Concord. They built their dream home on South Spring Street near Fryling Avenue in 1946 where they resided for the next 50 years. After Woodyâs passing, she moved a short distance away to another neighborhood street.  Ruby was the mother of Valerie Ross (Huey Willett) and Division Chief Greg Faggart (Sherry), Concord Fire Department (Retired) and the grandmother of Brian Ross and Amy Faggart-Wallace.  She is also survived by her brother, Professor James H. Cauble of Wingate.  Ruby retired from Arrowood Mills in Mount Pleasant in 1986. She enjoyed sewing, especially âBarbieâ doll clothes, yard work with plants and flowers, cooking, and baking. She was well known for her special Red Velvet Cakes. She kept a spotless house and would not sit down until all dishes, pots and pans were washed, dried and returned to their proper place. She enjoyed time with her family and stated that her 86th birthday on January 1, 2009 was the best ever. It was the last time we would be able to celebrate with her.  She treasured the long-time friendship of Sarah McAnulty Pless, now of Cayce, South Carolina, whom she considered a sister.  Special thanks go to: Joyce Cook, her âGuardian Angelâ; Ruth Barringer, Betty Welch, Jackie Boger, Oseta Clontz, Ruth Wentz, and Kevin McLaughlin.  The family will receive friend at Hartsell Funeral Home, 460 Branchview Dr. NE, Concord on Wednesday, October 21 from 6 to 8 PM. At other times, they will be at her home.  The funeral will be held Thursday, October 22 at 3 PM at Mount Hermon Lutheran Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The service will be conducted by Pastor Norbert F. Hahn.  Memorials may be sent to: Mt.
