Ruby Hendley

Ruby Furr Morgan Hendley, age 101 of Albemarle, NC passed away on June 13, 2012 at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center. The family will receive friends Tuesday June 19, 2012 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. The service, officiated by Rev. Jim Yow, will follow at 2:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Homes Lefler Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory. Mrs. Hendley was born in Stanly County on December 18, 1910, to the late Robert Nelson Furr and the late Sallie Mann Furr. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert H. “Bob” Morgan, in 1989. She later married Robert Lee Hendley, Jr. who also preceded her in death in 2009. Mrs. Hendley is survived by one step-son, Robert Lee Hendley III and wife, Kathy, of Michigan, and their three children. Other survivors are nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 172 North Second Street, Albemarle, N. C. 28001. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center for their love and care during the last eight years.
