Ruby Mcclure

Ruby Lee Morgan McClure, 90, of Concord, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 at her son Dennis and wife, Leslie’s home in Kannapolis, where’s she’s been living as of recent.

Ruby was born one of four children to the late Kizer and Elviney Morgan on December 18, 1929 in Concord.  She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Swann McClure (they had a love for the ages); son, Bobby Lynn McClure; sister, Ruth Morgan Kiser; and brother, JP Morgan.

She was a current member of Epworth United Methodist Church and a former member of Wilmar Park Baptist Church.  She took care of countless children in her home and during church activities and loved each one of them as her own.  She was the best example of unconditional love this side of heaven that you would ever experience.  Ruby McClure was a devoted wife, a loving mother, beloved grandmother, faithful Christian, watchful neighbor, precious friend, and the best caregiver you could ever pray for.  Anyone that knew her loved her and is forever blessed.  She is missed dearly and deeply every moment now and forever.  Until we meet again, we’ll be looking for her in everyone she touched. We will forever love her, and we’ll see her again soon.

She is survived by daughters, Hazel (Barry) Robinson, Ruth (Shearon) Burleson, and Kathy (Keith) Howell; sons, Swann (Shay) McClure, Dennis (Leslie) McClure, and Brandon “BJ” McClure (Jamie Curley); step-son Mickey McClure; thirteen grandchildren, Marty, Jacquie, Chris, Jennifer, Jason, Beth, Alison, Lauren, Hilarie, Zackarie, Brandon, Marcia, and Yvette; fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; younger brother, Bobby Morgan; and several dear nieces and nephew.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.  The funeral service will be on Monday at 11:00 am at Epworth United Methodist Church, 1030 Burrage Road in Concord, officiated by Rev. Sonny Reavis.  Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park Kannapolis.
