Ruby Grace Mullis, 61 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014. Miss Mullis was born August 8, 1952 in Roseboro, NC to the late Barney Benson Mullis and the late Minnie Emily Thomas Mullis. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Rex and Warren Mullis. Ruby was employed by Variety Pickup in Oakboro for 28 years. She was a long standing active member at Indian Hill Presbyterian Church in Stanfield where she served as choir director, was an Elder, served on Session and was active in the women of the church. Ruby also provided the flowers in the church for many years. Ruby never had any children of her own but was a mother to more than can be counted. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Monday at 11:00 am at Indian Hill Presbyterian Church, 8349 NC Hwy 200, Stanfield, officiated by Rev. Rick Brundin. A 30 minute state will be held prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include sisters, Rita Little and Brenda Diane Page of Oakboro; brother, Leroy (Lynda) Mullis of Cassatt, SC, Glenn (Phyllis) Mullis of Oakboro and Archie Mullis of Cassatt, SC; sisters-in-law, Mildred and Joyce Mullis; and 21 nieces and nephews.
