Ruby Ramelle Efird

Ruby Ramelle Efird, 90, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Ruby was born October 8, 1933 in North Carolina to the late William Rufus Huneycutt and the late Glennie Lee Huneycutt. 

She was also preceded in death by husband, Price Junior Efird and two brothers Robert Huneycutt and Calvin Huneycutt.

The family will receive friends from 1pm-2:45pm on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Sweet Home Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow in the chapel officiated by Pastor Preston Young. Burial will follow at the Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery at 28873 Sweet Home Church Road, Albemarle.

Ruby was a hard working woman, a mother of five children, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ruby was a hugger, if she ever hugged you, you could feel the love that she had in her heart. She worked beside her husband Price of 70 years, to provide for her family who she loved dearly. Ruby enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing cards, pitching horseshoes, and most of all she enjoyed going to church at Sweet Home Baptist. 

Survivors include sons, Joel (Jodi) Efird and Mark A. Efird; daughters, Elaine Faulkner, Wanda (Will) Spearen, and Amy Efird (David) Beard and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
