Ruby Tucker

Ruby Furr Tucker, 88, of Oakboro, NC, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011, at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle, NC. Mrs. Tucker was born March 26, 1922, in Stanly County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Lee Tucker; father, Charlie Hampton Furr; mother, Rosa Florence Hopkins Furr; brothers, Newell, Reece, and Leonard Furr; sisters, Colen Austin and Lois Coble; and daughter-in-law, Patsy Tucker. Ruby retired from Stanly Knitting Mill in the sewing department and was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Oakboro. The visitation will be 2 – 4 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with the funeral service beginning at 4:00. Rev. Keith Walters will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at her home. Survivors are her sons, Roger Dale Tucker and wife, Judy, and Gary Lee Tucker, both of Oakboro; grandsons, Terry Tucker and wife, Erica, Mark Tucker and wife, Monica, Bryan Tucker and wife, Brooke, and Trent Tucker, all of Oakboro; and ten great-grandchildren, Courtney, Taryn, Trevor, Kaitlyn, Ashelyn, Madelyn, Brevan, Brylie, Branson, and Camden.
