Ruby Thompson

Ruby Louise Thompson, 80, of Mount Gilead, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 at Atrium Health Stanly in Albemarle.

Ruby was born April 6, 1942 in North Carolina to the late Charlie Pierce Thompson and the late Mary Margaret Marks Thompson.
She was also preceded in death by daughter, Angela Maria Thompson; and four sisters.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 20, 2022 at White Crest Baptist Church in Mt. Gilead. The graveside service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm at White Crest Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Gilead officiated by Pastor Ken McRae. Burial will follow at the White Crest Baptist Church Cemetery at 1051 River Rd., Mount Gilead.

Survivors include daughter, Tammy (Charles) Thompson-Morris of Troy, NC; son, Christopher Dudley Thompson of the home; grandchildren, Charles Timothy Morris of Troy, NC, Carla (Alex)Lynthacum of Troy, NC, Benji Morris of Troy, NC, Summer (Tim) Cross of Eagle River, AK; and great-grandchildren, Barrett, Patricia, Addyson, and Abram.

Ruby enjoyed her pets, coffee, going for walks, shopping, flowers, and most importantly spending time with her family. Ruby wanted to make sure to thank all of her family and friends for their care through the years during this difficult time.

The Thompson family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice of Stanly and Uwharrie, and Daisy and Edwards Home Care of Mt. Gilead.
