Rufus Austin

Rufus Vance Austin, 81 years of age, of Mount Gilead, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.

Mr Austin was born October 2, 1933 in Union County to the late Lester Fulton Austin and the late Ada Idell Austin.
He was also preceded in death by first wife, Mary Furr Austin, second wife, Teresa Austin, five brothers, and three sisters.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm, Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Euto Baptist Church at 6019 Highway 205, Marshville, NC 28103.
The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the church Worship Center. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include daughter, Mary (Bill) Johnson of Mount Gilead; daughter, Donna (Bill) Whitley of Marshville; son, Jeffrey (Debbie) Austin of Marshville; son, Vance (Melissa) Austin of Norwood; brother, Jack Austin of Marshville; sister, Carolyn Furr of Marshville; sister, Melvia Love of Stanfield; six grandchildren, Jessica Coulter, Shane Whitley, Shannon Austin, David Austin, Melanie Parker, and Aaron Austin; five great-grandchildren, Emma and Matthew Coulter, and Mary Ann, Paul, and Joy Parker.
