Rufus Lambert

Mr. Rufus James "R.J." Lambert 85 of Concord passed away on Monday, September 14, 2009 at Avante At Concord. Born on January 18, 1924 in Cabarrus County to the late John Lambert and the late Rosetta (Hinson) Lambert . Mr. Lambert was also preceded in death by his wife Sarah Christine (Smith) Lambert in 1987, sister, Katie Furr, and brothers, Lonnie Lambert, Stance Lambert, Horace Lambert, and Archie Lambert. He was a retired loom fixer with Cannon Mills. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Concord from 1 PM until 2 PM with the service beginning at 2 PM. Rev. Dale Jenkins will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Survivors are daughter, Melinda (Lambert) Morgan of Kannapolis, NC; son, James Ray Lambert of Salisbury, NC; brother, Carl Lambert and wife Johnnie of Locust, NC; sisters, Mary Brault and husband Fred of Charlotte, NC; Patsy Honeycutt and husband Gene of Locust, NC; Betty Morgan and husband Ray of Oakboro, NC; Annie Lou Fisher and husband Bob of Mt. Pleasant, NC; and Bertie Lee Ritchie of Albemarle, NC; four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Avante At Concord 515 Lake Concord Road Concord, NC 28025.
