Ruth Almond

Ruth Almond, 86, of Locust, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019 surrounded by her family at Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast in Concord.

Mrs. Almond was born March 13, 1933 in Stanly County to the late Dudley Joe Beachum and the late Carrie Rose McIntyre Beachum. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lewis Almond; son, David Nolan; brothers, Homer Beachum, Grover Beachum, Clyde Beachum, and Dudley Joe Beachum, Jr.; sisters, Stella Bradford Poplin, Minnie Poplin, and Mattie Marie Beachum.

Ruth enjoyed painting and you would frequently find her in her flower gardens, shopping or working in her salon.

Mrs. Almond will lie in state from 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM, Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church at 24425 Millingport Road, Locust. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM officiated by the Elders of the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the burial in the church fellowship hall.

Survivors include daughter, Rhonda Crisco and husband Mike of Oakboro; grandsons, Jason and Matthew Crisco with two great grandsons and three great granddaughters. Survivors also include her daughter-in-law, Ollie and granddaughters, Dianna and Oleaha Almond.
