Ruth Henderson

Ruth Carpenter Henderson, 88, of Albemarle, NC, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010, at Britthaven of the Piedmont, Albemarle, NC. Mrs. Henderson was born October 21, 1922, in Stanly County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley B. Henderson; father, Archibald Carpenter; mother, Minnie Belle Burris Carpenter; and daughter, Ann Andrews in 2004. She was a bookkeeping manager at First National Bank. A visitation will be held 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 1, at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 noon, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Albemarle, officiated by Rev. Daniel H. Wilson. Survivors include daughter, Laura Henderson, of Bethesda, Maryland; grandsons, Blair Willcox of Madison, Wisconsin and Christopher Willcox of New York City; and brothers, Clay Carpenter of Aquadale and Glenn Carpenter of Matthews. Memorials may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 132 Church Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, is serving the Henderson family.
