Ruth Parnell

Ruth Phillips Belk Parnell, 96, of Mint Hill, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Clear Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Mint Hill.

Ruth Parnell was born December 10, 1924 in North Carolina, to the late Vernon and Leona Phillips.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John McDowd Belk; and her husband, Luther Grady Parnell, as well as her stepson, Jack Parnell.
Survivors include her children, Alan (Kathy) Belk, John (Carolyn, deceased) Belk, Sharon (Chuck) Belanger, and Myra (Terry) Bebber; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth loved her family and adored her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School at Arlington Baptist Church for over 40 years.

The family will receive friends at 2:30pm, Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Arlington Baptist Church in Mint Hill, with Funeral Service to follow at 3:00pm officiated by Rev. Rick Whittier, with additional remarks by Rev. Dr. Steven Gandy. Burial will follow at the Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery at 9801 Arlington Church Rd., Mint Hill, NC.
