Ruth Tucker

Ruth Elizabeth Tucker, Age 83 of passed away on July 21, 2010 at Britthaven of the Piedmont in Albemarle. Mrs. Tucker was born in Stanly County on January 1, 1927. She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Whitley, her father, Jonas Whitley, her spouse Lawrence Tucker, Sr., her daughter-in-law, Joy Tucker, her son, Johnny Tucker, Sr., and grandson Johnny Tucker, Jr. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Hartsell Funeral Home - Midland. The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Hartsell Funeral Home, 13575 Broadway Ave. Midland, NC, with Rev. Jeff Springer officiating. Burial will follow at Big Lick Baptist Church Cemetery. Ruth Whitley Tucker is survived by her sons Lawrence Tucker, Jr. of Stanfield, NC, Albert "Dickie" Tucker of Whiteland, IN, Melvin "Pat" Tucker and wife Gail of Norwood NC; her sister, Kat Carriker of Midland, NC; 8 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
