Ruth Voncanon

Ruth Land VonCanon, 85, of Cabarrus Road, Midland, NC, passed away at her home January 11, 2009. Mrs. VonCanon was born November 28, 1924, in Oconee County, South Carolina, to the former Doctor Quillian Land and Iris Lavele Gray Land. She was the Assistant to the Director of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and a member of United Love Baptist Churh. Visitation will be Wednesday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, 5:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be Thursday, January 21, 2009, 1:00 pm, at United Love Baptist Church, 11487 Flowes Store Road, Midland, officiated by Rev. Marvin Tyson. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Charlotte. Survivors include her daughter Donna J. Thomas; son, Wayne K. Wells, Sr.; grandchildren W. Kenneth Wells, Jr., Cameron Wells, and Kaylor Wells; great grandchild Destiny Wells.
