Biography
Ruth Hinson Whitley, 89 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Carolinas HealthCare System Stanly in Albemarle.
Ruth was born May 17, 1927 in Stanly County to the late Alis Franklin Hinson and the late Laura Elmettie Hinson.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Alexander Whitley; son, Ernest Alexander "Ernie" Whitley; six brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive friends after the graveside service on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Dr. Wayne Bennett.
Survivors include one grandson, Adam Aleron Whitley of Asheville; daughter, Anita (Reggie) Hill of Oakboro; speical nieces/caregivers, Wilda Hinson Almond, Mika Rogers, Kayla Rogers all of Albemarle and other nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro, NC 28129 or any organization of your choice .
