Ruth Yates

Ruth Blackwelder Yates, 92, of Kannapolis, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Big Elm Retirement & Nursing Center in Kannapolis.

She will be cherished and remembered by her children; Gail (James) Karriker of Salisbury, Steve (Mary) Yates of Midland, and Tim (Susie) Yates of Concord.

She had six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren. She also had two sister; Thelma Yow and Carolyn Morrison of Concord, and a brother Homer Blackwelder of Midland.

Preceded in death by her husband Buddy Yates, a son named Darrell Yates and two brothers; Ray and Bill Blackwelder, along with parents Lawson and Clara Barringer Blackwelder.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Broadus Baptist Church at 59 Green St. SW, Concord, NC 28027.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Big Elm Retirement and Nursing Center of Kannapolis, NC.
