Sadie Burleson

Sadie Smith Burleson, 87 years of age, of Locust, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. Sadie was born June 17, 1926 in Stanly County to the late Sandy Smith and the late Elmetty Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Milas Clifford Burleson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 3:30 PM on Friday, November 22, 2013 in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. Rev Joe Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at the Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 20415 Hwy 24/27 West, Oakboro, NC 28129. She is survived by sons, Jerry N. Burleson and wife, Johnnie of Albemarle, Gary M. Burleson and wife, Linda of Stanfield, and Ken Burleson and wife, Pat of Oakboro, and daughter, Shelia Efird and husband, Bobby of Albemarle, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 North First Street Albemarle, NC 28001. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Burleson family.
