Sallie Ann Leff (Mercier) died on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Mrs. Leff was born August 18, 1941, the daughter of the late Peter T. and Genevieve Petersen in Schenectady, NY.
Sallie lived in Clifton Park, NY most of her life and was a 1959 graduate of Shenendehowa Central School. She also attended SUNY Cobleskill. Sallie was a paralegal for over 30 years while she lived in NY. Sallie and Jerome moved from NY to NC in 2005 and Sallie worked for Mattamy Homes and Ryland Homes before her NC retirement. She and her husband are members of the Speedway Club at Charlotte Motor Speedway. She was also a member of the 2014 Fan Council at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Sallie was one of the Carolina Panthers biggest fans.
Mrs. Leff is survived by her wonderful loving spouse, Jerome Leff. In addition to her husband, she leaves: her children: daughter, Wendy (Paul) Kisselback, Cohoes, NY; daughter Stacey (James) Smith, Schenectady, NY; son, Derek (Marie) Mercier, Mint Hill, NC; grandchildren: Valerie Kisselback, Reid Kisselback, Allison Mercier, Maren Mercier, Madeline Tobin; sisters: Nancy Gibbons, Greensboro, NC, Mary Lou (Charles) Wheeler Saratoga Springs, NY, stepchildren: Susan Leff (Brad Post), San Francisco, CA, Michelle (Mark) Mermelstein, Burke, VA; step-grandchildren: Frank Post, Sadie Post, Lilah Post, Mia Mermelstein.
Memorials can be made to Levine's Cancer Institute, Concord, North Carolina and Hospice of Cabarrus County, Kannapolis, North Carolina.
A memorial service will be on Friday, December 7 at 2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, 12115 University City Blvd., Harrisburg, NC.
