Sam Johnson, Jr

Sam Arthur Johnson, 81 years of age, of New London, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Stanly Manor in Albemarle.

Mr. Johnson was born May 25, 1933 in Tennessee to the late Sam Authur Johnson Sr. and the late Lula Street Johnson.

Mr. Johnson served on the New London town council for four years.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Monday, November 17, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Elizabeth Ayscue, will be on Monday at 3:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle. Burial will follow at New London Cemetery, 331 Spring Street, New London.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, June Iris Johnson; son, Samuel Gregory Johnson of New London; and daughter, Lesia Eudy and her husband, Randy, of Summerville, SC.
