Samuel Morris Berkowitz, 80, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 after struggling with Alzheimer's Disease.
He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Gladys, his son Michael of Concord, NC, Daughter, Leah of Siesta Key, Fl, and five grandchildren, Kelsey, Morgan, Preston, Zachary and Harrison.
While Sam Lived and worked around the globe, he called Charlotte his home for the last 25 years. Sam was a former President of the Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods, Started the first Socrate's Cafe in Charlotte and made contributions to the Ben Craig Center.
Sam was an Internationally renowned leader in the Adhesive and sealants industry. His Master's Degree in Chemistry from Indiana University and ability to recognize applications in the market led to innovations in the automotive and other industries that we all benefit from today.
Alzheimer's took Sam's zest for life and intellectual curiosity and so we find peace in his passing and remember him fondly as businessman, story teller and aficionado of life.
The family will have a private Memorial to respect his wishes.
