Sarah Carriker

Sarah Ann Kathleen "Kat" Carriker, 89 years of age, of Midland, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Carriker was born January 5, 1925 in North Carolina to the late Jonas Richard Whitley and Thelma Gertrude Whitley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Foil Barrier Carriker in 2006. Mrs. Carriker and her husband owned and operated Carriker's Produce in Midland. Mrs. Carriker was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.


The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm , Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Monday at 11 am at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Midland, officiated by Rev. Jeremy Brackett and Rev. Tom Gibbs. Burial will follow at the Bethel United Methodist Cemetery at 12700 Idlebrook Road, Midland.

At other times the family will meet at her home 1294 Hwy 24/27 in Midland.

Survivors include daughters; Glenda Little and husband Ken of Stanfield, Cynthia Talley and husband Tommy also of Stanfield, Gail Love and husband Roy of Locust, and Monica Lewis and husband Kevin of Midland, eleven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
