Sarah Carriker
December 20, 1926 — August 22, 2015
Sarah Sossoman Carriker, 88 years of age, of Midland, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Trinity Place in Albemarle surrounded by her family.
Sarah was born December 20, 1926 in Cabarrus County to the late Fairel Lee Sossoman and the late Virginia Lucille Blackwelder Sossoman. She was also preceded in death by husband, Ross Lee Carriker; brothers, John Daniel Sossoman, Fairel Sossoman, Jr. and Joe Sossoman; sisters, Evelyn Overcash and Doris Benton.
The family will receive friends from 1:30pm to 3pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 12700 Idlebrook Rd., Midland. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Mark Clontz, will follow at 3pm in the church sanctuary. The burial will be in the church cemetery. At other times the family will meet at the home of her daughter, Judy Morgan, 9801 Hwy 601, Midland.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Al) Morgan of Midland, Janice Hinson of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Cathy (Roger) Haigler of Oakboro; sisters, Faye Griffin, Phyllis Helms, and Linda Bost; grandchildren, Benjamin York, Matthew (Misty)York, Julie (Patrick) Broome, Shane Hinson; and great-grandchildren, Stormy Hinson, Braxton, Skye, and Alyssa York, Dylan, Craven, McKinley, and Will York, Trevor Bailey, and Tiffany Haigler.
Sarah had a contagious smile, and was always pleasant. She loved everyone, especially children. She will be missed by everyone who loved her.
The family would like to thank caregiver and faithful friend, Mary Love, and special caregiver, Agnes BoBo. The family would also like to thank the staff at Trinity Place for the special care and love that was shown to their mother.
