Sarah Morris

Sarah Cornelia Cranford Morris was born May 22, 1929 in Gastonia, NC to the late Zim Franklin Cranford and the late Nelia Adeline Lowder Cranford.

In addition to her husband of 66 years, Bobby Morris, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Glen, Marvin, Frank, JC, Willard and Carroll Cranford; and sisters, Edna Morrow and Viola Harris.

She attended Pfeiffer College, the University of NC at Chapel Hill, and graduated from Women's College in Greensboro, NC with a degree in Home Economics Education.  After a brief career in education, she worked beside her husband at Morris Super Market, and later retired as a seamstress at Dunrite Laundry.

She is survived by daughters, Gina Morris (Jimmy) Watlington, Wendy Morris (Cavin) Holbrook, Mitzi Morris (Darin) Helms; grandchildren Ginger (Jeff) Stokes, William (Jamey) Watlington, Hunter Holbrook, Caroline Holbrook, Cameron Helms, Allison Helms; great grandchildren, Hailey Stokes, Beckett Watlington, and Charlie Watlington.

A memorial service for the Morris family will be held at a later date.
