Sarah "Frances" Drake, 75 years of age, of Midland, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014, surrounded by her loved ones.
Frances was born December 19, 1938, in Cabarrus County to the late Sherman Marshall Drake and Loma Adaline Drake.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Ricky Hartsell.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Monday, November 17, 2014, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland and will be officiated by Rev. Thomas Gibbs and Rev. Gary Wyrick.
Survivors include her mother, Loma Adaline Drake; two daughters, Sherry H. (Richard W. ) Fowler of Charleston, SC, and Betsy (Karim) Drake-Zafr of Los Angeles, CA; one sister, Becky Crayton; three brothers, Jerry, Larry, and Joe Drake; six grandchildren, Brian Pope, Brett Rhye, Amber Weakley, Brittney Drake, Dalton Shuford, and Brandon Cooke; and nine great-grandchildren including Kori Drake.
Lovingly known by her family as "Nanny", Frances was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to all who knew her.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the family.
