Sarah Hammonds

Mrs. Sarah Alice Hammonds 75 of Concord passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Universal Healthcare in Concord. Born on December 7, 1934 in Cabarrus County to the late John Steffie Moose and the late Mary Pearl Safrit Moose. Also preceded in death by her husband Floyd “Sonny” Hammonds, Jr., and a sister Mildred Herring. Mrs. Hammonds was a homemaker. She was a life time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School. Sarah was loved by all her friends. A visitation will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Concord on Monday, May 10, 2010 from 10 until 11 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11AM , with the Rev. Dr. Mark Ericson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survived by: son, Fred Hammonds and wife Cindy of Lewisville; grandchildren, Sally and Eric Hammonds of Lewisville; brothers, Gene F. Moose, Charles Wayne Moose, and Barry M. Moose all of Concord; sisters, Marie Goodman, and Kate Ritchie both of Concord; and numerous nieces and nephews.
