Sarah Joyce Misenheimer

"Sarah Joyce" Misenheimer, 90, of Concord, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. We can only imagine those that went before her ushering her to meet Jesus.

 Sarah was born September 19, 1933 in North Carolina to the late Walter Eugene Sapp and the late Carrie Garmon Sapp. 

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Francis Sapp Blackwelder, and brothers;  Kenneth "Herb" Sapp, Cooper Sapp, and Don Sapp; and most certainly the glorious reunion with her two children, Tammy Lee Misenheimer and Joseph "Joey" Pinkney Misenheimer III.

While we rejoice in her entering her eternal resting place with the Lord, her unconditional love for her family and friends has created a void for us all that can only be healed by having faith that we will see her again one day. Sarah leaves behind the love of her life and husband of 67 years, Joseph Pinkney Misenheimer Jr. Her beloved daughter, Francis Elizabeth Woods, and adored granddaughters, Tammy Nance, Brandi Misenheimer-Brill, Ashley Phillips, and Courtney Hucks. In addition, "Maw Maw", as she was lovingly known, leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren of whom she loved with all her being; Lauren Woods, Makayla and Breanna Nance (Tammy); Tyler, Harper, and Norah Brill (Brandi), Costa and Denver Phillips (Ashley); Skylyn, Cartier, and June Manley (Courtney).

Sarah left behind numerous unnamed loved ones whose life she impacted beyond measure. Her unwavering love and compassion for others was selfless and nothing short of a gift from God. An angel here on earth, she finally gained her wings.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Friday, June 28, 2024 at Forest Hill United Methodist Church, Concord, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Mandy Neill.
