Sarah Roxann Starnes, 79, of Concord passed away Saturday evening, February 4, 2023 at Atrium Health in Pineville.
Roxann was born August 9, 1943 to the late Harley and Mildred Almon. In addition to her parents, Roxann is preceded in death by her husband, Don Starnes; sister, Sue Smith; brother, Jimmy Almon; daughter-in-law, Angie Aldridge; and grandchildren, James Arthur and LeAnn Gray.
Roxann is survived by her 6 children; Tammy Gray, Teresa “Cissy” (Julio) Chavez, Timothy (Jackie) Aldridge, Terri (Steve) Norris, Toni (Ray) Yow, and Theron (Christi Cox) Aldridge; 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchilren along with her beloved cats, Nelly and Sally.
Roxann was a very giving person. She would always do whatever she could for anyone in need. She could often be found in her kitchen cooking enough food to feed an army. She loved her family and friends. One of her favorite things to do was go shopping on Saturdays with her best friend, Flossie Hendley and daughter, Cissy. Roxann had an avid love for animals. She has had numerous pets including cats, dogs, goats, and raccoons. In her free time she loved to do word searches, needle point, puzzles, and watch “The Price is Right” and “Wheel of Fortune”.
Memorials may be made to New Gilead Reformed Church located at 2400 Old Salisbury-Concord Rd., Concord, North Carolina 28025.
