Sarah Steele

Sarah "Sally" Josephine Steele, 61 years of age, of Locust, NC, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017.

Sally was born January 8, 1956 in Chester, PA to the late Albert Thomas Tenaro and the late Sarah Josephine Tenaro. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Albert and Richard Tenaro.

Survivors include husband, David Kluttz; her children, Albert Perkins, Damian Perkins (wife Monica), Rebecca Kepner (husband Kyle). and Elizabeth O'Brien of Chichester, Pa; grandchildren Angelina Perkins, Damian Perkins Jr., and Calli Clark; siblings, Damian Tenaro (wife Stacy), Guy Tenaro, and Ralph Tenaro (wife Bettyanne) of Concord, NC, Natale Cutrufello of Wallingford, PA, and Rochelle Tenaro of Arizona. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as the extended Kluttz family.

For the past 16 years, Sally and Dave resided in their North Carolina home that she loved and took great pride in. Together, they shared in many activities, including taking long drives. They went to many places like the surrounding casino's and rivers just to relax and enjoy each other's company. She also enjoyed family gatherings with her brothers and their extended family, especially for sports games so she could root for her "hometown" teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. She enjoyed visits in her home and when her children came to visit, she always wanted them to bring her favorite hometown treats like Italian Hoagies, Cheesesteaks, Tastycakes and Scrapple.

Prior to moving to North Carolina with her brother, Damian, she enjoyed being a mother to her 4 children. Her home was always a gathering place for the family. She loved passing down family stories and recipes, often making her mother's famous spaghetti for everyone. She was very close to her mom and enjoyed spending time with her. She will be remembered always for the loving, caring, and gentle person she was.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 12th, 2017, at 2 pm, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 139 Manor Ave. SW Concord, NC 28025.
