Saundra Dianne Carpenter Griffin, 78 years of age, formerly of Concord, passed away Monday, December 14, 2015 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Saundra bravely faced recent surgery in pursuit of a better quality of life.

Saundra was born November 25, 1937 in Cabarrus County to the late Pinkney Allen Carpenter and the late Gladys Louise Carpenter Tarrh. She was also preceded in death by her brother Douglas Carpenter and nephew Scott Carpenter.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Friday, December 18, 2015 at West Concord Baptist Church in Concord, NC. The funeral service will start at 3:00 pm officiated by pastor Mike Farley. Burial will immediately follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.

Survivors include her husband, Roscoe Edward Griffin, now living at Bermuda Commons in Advance, NC; her daughter, Angie (Joe) Vincoli of Clemmons, NC; grandsons Chris (Lara) Vincoli of Greenville, SC and Walker Vincoli of San Diego, CA; niece and nephew Tammie (Chris) Vagts and Kelly (Crystal) Carpenter), both of Thomasville, NC.

Saundra was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother who also enjoyed work as a part-time secretary. She built an amazing network of friends of all ages wherever she went. An entire generation of church goers smilingly remembers her as The Green Frog Lady for her work with children.
