Scotty Blackmon

Scotty Lamar Blackmon, 47 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at his home.

Scotty was born November 23, 1966 in Albemarle, NC to Alvin Junior Blackmon of Rockingham and the late Minnie Louise Huneycutt. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Baxter Blackmon.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM on Friday, October 10 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM in the Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle Chapel. The service will be officiated by Rev. Mike Lisk. Private burial will follow at the Hamer Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy. 109 in Mt. Gilead.

Survivors include sisters, Amy Jo Blackmon of Albemarle, Crystal Blackmon of Charlotte; brothers, Jeff Blackmon of Norwood and Jeremy Huneycutt of Albemarle. He is also survived by his niece Temperance Blackmon and nephew Heath Blackmon. Special friends Sammy Hopkins, Wade Chandler, Annette Hathcock and the Spradlings also survive. He loved his rock and roll music, bandanas and his special niece Baby Girl.
