Sharon Bost

Sharon Frances Vanderburg Bost, 69 years of age, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at her home in Concord. Sharon was born October 7, 1947 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Dock and Virginia Vanderburg and sisters Anne V. Fisher and Rachel Vanderburg.

Sharon was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She prayed for many people since her disabilities prevented her from physically doing many other things. She never met a stranger. She was passionate about her family and everything she did. Her first priority was making sure everyone knew that Jesus was essential to their life.

Sharon graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1965 and Duke University in 1969. She taught middle school primarily at Winecoff and Northwest Middle School for 20 years until her health made her unable to do that in 1992. She was a member of Concord First Assembly of God, where she was also a member of the intercessory prayer team.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Larry G. Bost, two daughters, Christie Taylor, husband Chris; and Melanie Dunning, husband Shawn; grandchildren, Caitlin and Collin Taylor, and Andrew and William Dunning.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord. The funeral service will be on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Concord First Assembly Of God, 150 Warren C. Coleman Boulevard in Concord, NC, officiated by Doctor Douglas Witherup.
A private family burial will follow at a later date.
