Shelby Harwood

Shelby Jean Wagoner Harwood, 79 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Shelby was born October 30, 1936 in Stanly County to the late Dewey Wyte Wagoner and the late Zula Mae Eudy Wagoner.
She was also preceded in death by husband of 58 years in 2013, Jay Sherwood Harwood and one brother, Lewis Wagoner.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday at 11:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Beau Linker and Rev. Doug Petersen. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

At all other times, the family will be meeting at her home.

Survivors include one son, Robert Dale (Sheri) Harwood of Albemarle; one daughter, Cathy Lynn Harwood Davis (Mike) of Haw River,NC; one brother, George Ray Wagoner of Mount Pleasant; one sister, Linda Kay Wagoner Stallings of Mount Pleasant; three grandchildren, Nicholas Davis, Sasha Efird, Natasha (Jason) Furr; and one great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Furr.

An active member of Oak Grove UMC as long as her health permitted, she was employed at her family's business, Piedmont Elelctric.

The family extends their sincerest appreciation to Lula Wilson, Adlay Wilson, Pat Medlin, and also to SICUII at CHS Northeast.
