Shelby Kimrey

Shelby Jean Thomas Kimrey, 73 years of age, of Charlotte, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

Shelby was born January 3, 1941 in Anson County to the late Jesse Eugene Thomas and the late Ona Mae Williams Thomas.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church, 1117 South Boulevard, Charlotte, NC. A memorial service officiated by Rev. Bobby Morrow, Rev. Drag Kimrey, Rev. David Bailes, and Rev. Stan Heiser will follow at 3:00 PM, Thursday, April 24, 2014.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard "Drip" Haywood Kimrey of Charlotte; sons, Todd Reynolds Kimrey and wife, Sue of Albemarle and Charles Eric Kimrey and wife, Sharon of Charlotte; grandson, Zach Kimrey and wife, Kim; granddaughters, Caroline Kimrey, Amber Kimrey and McKenzie Kimrey; grandson, Blaine Kimrey; great-grandson, Tanner Kimrey; sister, Elizabeth Thomas Howard and husband, DC, of Albemarle; and brother, Larry Thomas and wife, Judy, of Oakboro.
