Shelia Austin

Shelia Ann Hartsell Austin, 70, of Olive Branch, won her battle after a long and courageous fight with cancer. She was at home, with her loving family by her side when she went to be with her Lord on Monday, March 2, 2020.

Mrs. Austin was born September 7, 1949 to the late Grover Cleveland and Dallie Helms Hartsell. In addition to her parents, she was also proceeded in death by an infant brother, Morris and brother Melvin Hartsell.

Shelia was a dedicated member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where she served the Lord faithfully. She was married to her beloved husband, Jerry, and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last May 4, 2019. Together they raised a family and enjoyed their time with their grandchildren. She loved being at the beach, and living the life of a farmer's wife.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 7002 Pleasant Hill Ch. Rd. Marshville and will be officiated by Rev. John Miller and Rev. Leon Whitley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends, following the burial in the church fellowship hall.

Survivors include: Husband, Jerry Austin; daughter, Starla and husband, Wally Hunter; daughter, Ginger and husband, Ryan Phillips; son, JR and wife, Kristin Austin; ten grandchildren, Brooke and husband, Casey Hartley, Shay Hunter, Wyatt Hunter, Drake Phillips, Kamryn Phillips, Bo Hunter, Connor Austin, Taelynn Austin, Kynndal Austin, Kannon Austin; great-granddaughter, Hunter Hartley; sister, Terry and husband, Patrick Hunt.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, or Hospice of Union County.
