Sherry Allison Powell

Sherry Allison Powell, 74, of Harrisburg, went home to be with Our Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at her residence in Harrisburg.

Mrs. Powell was born May 20, 1950 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Robert and Millie Allison.

Sherry was a bright light to everyone she met. It was hard not to smile when around her with her infectious personality. She worked 30 years for Duke Power before retiring.

Her greatest love was her husband of 49 years, Ted. They enjoyed traveling and serving at church together. These two were the definition of true love and set a Godly example to their daughters. She would tell you that her pride and joy were her 4 amazing grandchildren who gave her her favorite title, Nana!

Sherry loved her Atlanta Braves and wouldn't miss watching a game! She would try to coach The Carolina Panthers every Sunday from the couch.

She has touched many lives with her love. She will be remembered as a good and faithful servant.

Survivors include husband, Ted Powell of Harrisburg, NC, daughter's, Leslie Young (Robbie) , Ashley Honeycutt (Matthew) Also surviving are four grandchildren, Lee Young, Caroline Young, Paige Honeycutt, Levi Honeycutt. Brothers Donnie Allison (Lynne) and Ronnie Allison. Several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Monday, April 21, 2025 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg, NC. The service will be officiated by Rev. Kyler Smith.
