Sherryl Hackett

Sherryl Lea Hackett, 73, of Albemarle, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Atrium Health Stanly in Albemarle.

Mrs. Hackett was born on May 18, 1948, in Kansas, to the late Donald James and Maxine Morris Elwood. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas James Elwood, Homer Boyd Elwood and Dwight Earl Bodine.

John and Sherryl owned and operated the Checker Mart in Albemarle for 25 years. Sherryl enjoyed going to yard sales and shopping at Real Deals and Girlfriend consignment store.

A private service will be held in Sherryl's honor.

Sherryl is survived by her husband of 59 years, John J. Hackett; daughters, Debra Draper, Tressy H. Noles; grandchildren, Gerald J. Draper, II, Jennifer Noles Brooks and husband Lance, Joseph Wayne Noles; great-grandchildren, Titus Brooks, Hayden Brooks; sister, Marida Baker and husband, Charles; brother, Jesse Elwood and wife, Linda; aunt Helen Vice; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
