Shirley Bowers

Shirley Temple Brattain Bowers, age 74 of 913 W. Red Cross Rd, Locust, NC passed away on July 1, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord. Born in Stanly County on June 10, 1936. Shirley Bowers was preceded in death by her husband Norman Richard Bowers in 1990; her father and mother Lee Sylvester Brattain and Electia Anne Eudy Brattain and son, Richard Bowers. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. Funeral service w ill be held on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel, 522 N. Second St. Albemarle, NC with minister Rev. Mitchell Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory. Mrs. Bowers is survived by her sons, Norman “Country” Bowers, Jr. and wife Holly of Stanfield, NC, Jeff Bowers and wife Georgeanna of Leland, NC, her 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sister Frances Page of Locust, NC, Zazel Page of Locust, NC, her brother, Ed Brattain of Locust, NC.
