Shirley Brooks

Shirley Jane Brooks, 76, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Mrs. Brooks was born February 12, 1936 in Mecklenburg County to the late Brown Wilson Brooks and the late Grace Allen Brooks. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, William Allen Brooks and Joseph Russell Brooks; and her sister, Betty Brooks Helms. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Dulin’s Grove Advent Christian Church. The funeral service will be at 11:00 officiated by Rev. Matt Broadway. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include her sisters, Sue Brooks Conner and Alice Brooks Biggers, both of Charlotte. Memorials may be made to Dulin’s Grove Advent Christian Church, 11200 Arlington Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28202. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Brooks family.
