Shirley Burleyson

Shirley Lois Burleyson, age 61 of 36046 Finger Road, Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Monday, May 16, 2011 at her home. The family will receive friends from 7pm to 9pm, Thursday, May 19, at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle. At other times the family will meet at her home. The funeral service will be at 4 PM on Friday, May 20 at Bethel Bear Creek United Church of Christ, Mt. Pleasant. Rev. Terri Barringer and Rev. Don Burleyson will officiate. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born June 7, 1949 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Gaston Delmare Lowder and Mary Lois Bowers Russell and husband Joel of Albemarle, and stepmother, Minnie Almond Lowder of Millingport. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Steve Burleyson of the home; daughter Jan Burris Gilbert of Gold Hill; sons, Dale Burris of Albemarle and Terry Burleyson and wife Angie of Kernersville; brothers Gaston Lowder, Jr. and Steve Lowder, both of Albemarle and 7 grandchildren.
