Shirley Carter

Shirley Bolick Carter, 93, of Concord, went to her heavenly home on Monday, May 17, 2021, at Accordius Health in Concord.

Shirley was born June 14, 1927 in Concord to the late John Marvin Bolick and late Vella Mattie (Brown) Bolick.  In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Richard Wayne Carter; son, Dale Steven Bolick; sister, Wilma Louise Killian; and nephew, Lloyd Bernard Killian, Jr.

Shirley was a devoted wife and mother, and she loved her four-legged babies.  She enjoyed spending time at the Coltrane LIFE Center, prior to becoming a resident at Accordius Health approximately 8 years ago.  All of the caregivers at both facilities provided such excellent care and improved her quality of life with daily activities.

Our family would like to thank the Coltrane LIFE Center and Accordius Health; we knew she was loved, safe, cared for and with friends.

Shirley is survived by her sister-in-law, Trilby Diane Foster (husband, Gradon) of China Grove; niece, Judy Spradley (husband, Al) of Concord; niece, Pam Soares (husband, Michael) of New London;  six great nieces and nephews; and three great, great niece and nephews.

A private graveside service was held at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
