Shirley Goodman

Shirley Rose Sifford Goodman, 76 of Concord, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Tucker Hospice House. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Shirley was born on August 26, 1935, the third child of the late George R. and Bertie Morgan Sifford. She was also preceded in death by a brother, George R. Sifford, Jr., and a sister, Wanda S. Teal. Shirley was a graduate of Winecoff High School, class of 1956 and worked at Standard Trucking Company for 29 years. She worked at Fredrickson Trucking Company for 15 years and most recently was employed by Jerico Performance Products. She enjoyed sewing and tending to her many flowers. Shirley attended Branchview First Church of God. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Lee B. Goodman of the home; brothers, James D. Sifford and wife, Giau of Fayetteville, Edwin “Dude” Sifford and wife, Ann; sister, Barbara Patterson and husband, Frank K. Patterson; sister-in-law, Margaret C. Sifford all of Concord; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. David Turner and his staff at CMC-NorthEast Oncology for the care given to her the past 7 years.
