Shirley Gray Hart

Shirley Gray Hart, 79, of Stanfield, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 27, 2023 at McWhorter Hospice House in Monroe.

Shirley was born July 3, 1944 in Cabarrus County to the late Hubert Jackson Gray and the late Ruby Elizabeth Gardner Gray.  She was also preceded by sister, Lucille Furr of Stanfield.

Shirley was a loving wife, mother and sister. In  her free time she would be found shopping, spending time with her dog Cassie, and enjoying her favorite soap opera.  Shirley loved spending time with her family and loved ones. She loved her church, church family, and her dedication to her Lord and Savior was unmovable.  Shirley will be remembered for her loving smile, warm personality, her unwavering resilience, and her desire for others to know Jesus Christ.  Shirley will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.   

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm, Monday, July 31, 2023, at Philadelphia Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm at Philadelphia Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Dwight Mabry and Pastor Carey Snellings. Burial will follow at the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, 12568 Philadelphia Church Road, Stanfield, NC.

Survivors include husband, Dexter Hart of the home; son, Randy Teeter of Charlotte; sister, Ella Mae Brooks (Leonard) of Davidson County; nephew, Eric Brooks of Boone; and niece, Camey Whitley of Stanly County.  

The family would like to extend special thanks to  Barbara Yow, her special childhood friend , Kara Lemire hairdresser for over 20 years, Hospice of Monroe, and everyone that helped and cared for Shirley.
