Shirley Hartsell

Shirley Faye Lackey Hartsell, 70 years of age, of Concord, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at her home.

Shirley was born March 24, 1944 in Concord to the late Kenneth O'Brian Lackey and the late Edna Mae Newton Lackey Arey.

The celebration of her life will be on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Dr. Tom Snipes. The burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Wesley Steven Hartsell, Sr. of the home; son, Wesley Steven Hartsell, Jr. of Concord daughters, Shelly Davis and husband James of Concord, and Dorinda Phillips of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Desmond Lee, Devonna Lee and husband Kevin, Eric, Bryan, Ashley, and Jenny Davis, and Tiffany and Tevin Lofton; great grandchildren, Maleigh Gulliett, Aliyah and Alayna Hall, Ralleigh Towe, and Kenzie and Lilly Jean Scandlan; brothers, Kennith Lackey and wife Judy of Concord, and Dwight Lackey of Albemarle; sister, Wanda Jones of Denver; three special friends, Lynette Lynderman, Eleanor Smith, and Wilma Kiker; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved gardening and her church. She was a faithful member of New Hope Worship Center.
