Shirley Hicks

Shirley Ann Caudle Hicks, 71, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013, at her home. Mrs. Hicks was born September 27, 1942 in Stanly County to the late William Lennington Caudle and the late Lucy Geneva Lowder Caudle . She was also preceded in death by husband of 49 years, John Larry Hicks, Sr. in 2010; sister, Linda Carpenter; and brother, W. L. "Buddy" Caudle. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Monday at 4:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Dr. Kinney Wallace. Burial will follow at the Porter Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include son, John Larry Hicks Jr. of Albemarle; son, Roger Hicks of Albemarle; grandsons, Joshua Hicks and Justin Hicks of Albemarle; brother, Cecil Caudle of Locust; brother, Edward Caudle of New London; and brother, Darrell Caudle of Aquadale. Memorials may be made to Porter Baptist Church Flower Fund. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Hicks family.
