Shirley Harkey Paige

Shirley Harkey Paige, 84, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Shirley was born September 18, 1940, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late Daniel Monroe Harkey and the late Dorabelle Harkey. 

She was also preceded in death by husband, Gurley McKinley Paige; son, Tony Lee Paige; and her eight siblings - marking the end of a generation.

Shirley was a cherished member of her community and a loving presence in the lives of her family and friends. Shirley was deeply devoted to her family, a passion that was evident in her love for cooking and the joy she took in spending time on her farm. She was a talented quilter and crocheter, often spending her spare time crafting beautiful pieces when she wasn't helping her husband with the farm work. A woman of great heart and resilience, Shirley's legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her. 

Survivors include son, Mickey McKinley (Anita) Paige; grandsons, Daniel (Amanda) Paige, Dustin (Amanda) Paige, Brandon (Katie) Paige, and Nicholas Paige. Shirley also leaves behind three great-grandsons who will miss her dearly.

Services for the Paige family will be private.
