Shirley Snavely Smith

Shirley Snavely Smith, 83, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast in Concord.

Mrs. Snavely was born February 12, 1936 in Indiana to the late Clifford Irvin Jackson and the late Ida Marie Jackson. She was also preceded in death by husband, J. R. Smith; brothers, Albert Byroad and Harold Max Byroad; and grandson, Dakota Snavely.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday, July 26, 2019  at 11:00 AM at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Nathan Fox. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

Survivors include daughters; Norita Fields and husband Terry of Albemarle; Melanie Little and husband David of Albemarle; son, Jimmy Snavely and wife Elizabeth of Albemarle; daughter, Darla Snavely and companion Daniel Fish of Norwood; grandchildren, Kim Jay Sites and wife Victoria, Megan Little, Caroline Dulin, Christopher Dulin, Chance Fish, Ian Fish; and great grandchildren, Jamie Sites and wife Megan, Kristine Sites, and Brandon Sites.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the local VFW.
